Housing Choice Voucher Program

The Housing Choice Voucher Program is the federal government’s  program for assisting very low-income families, the elderly, and the disabled to afford decent, safe, and sanitary housing in the private market.

The participating family pays the landlord 30% of the total gross household income with adjustments for medical expenses and childcare.

A housing subsidy is paid directly to the landlord by Greenwich Communities on behalf of tenant for the remaining portion of the rent charged.

EXTERNAL PORT REQUESTS

Existing Voucher Holders from other agencies wishing to transfer their subsidy into Greenwich Communities must review and follow the attached instructions.

Greenwich Communities is not absorbing.

PAYMENT STANDARDS

This document lists the rent amounts the HCV program will allow for each bedroom size.

REQUEST FOR TENANCY APPROVAL

Voucher Holders seeking to change their unit will need to complete the following forms with the assistance of the potential new landlord and their current landlord.
